Both franchises enter the week at 2-4 after disappointing starts to the year, but the division remains wide open as the New York Giants lead with a 3-2-1 record.

The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing Sunday night loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. After struggling on defense for most of the season, Dallas couldn't get their offense going , stuck at just seven points before scoring a touchdown in garbage time with just 0:44 on the clock.

The Eagles, meanwhile, had their season turned upside down last week after quarterback Jalen Hurts was placed on injured reserve as he undergoes treatment for deep vein thrombosis and blood clots in his lungs. Now, it's up to quarterback Tanner McKee to save the season. He threw for 215 yards and one touchdown in his third career start last week.

Saquon Barkley is back on the field to start Philadelphia's second drive after scoring a touchdown on its first. He's fine. Or as fine as he can be coming off a hamstring injury.

The Cowboys responded to the Eagles touchdown with a nine-play, 82-yard touchdown drive of their own. This time, Dak Prescott found CeeDee Lamb in the back right corner of the end zone for a 10-7 lead. Neither defense if offering up resistance in the first quarter.

Troy Aikman's trying to insist that Saquon Barkley reinjured himself, but he looks fine from here. After gaining 12 and 29 yards on his first two touches, Barkley capped Philadelphia's first drive with an 8-yard touchdown run around the right edge.

The Eagles take a 7-3 lead after gashing a porous Dallas defense. Barkley has three touches for 49 yards and the score.

Saquon Barkley ripped off gains of 12 and 29 yards on his first two touches since returning from a hamstring injury, and the Eagles are in business, deep in Cowboys territory.

Brian Schottenheimer had an interesting decision after a successful 55-yard field goal by Brandon Aubrey.

The Eagles were flagged for illegal formation on the kick, potentially putting the Cowboys at fourth-and-3 at the Philadelphia 32 with a chance to go for a first down. But the points were on the board, and Schottenheimer opted to keep them there for a 3-0 Cowboys lead after a 28-yard opening drive.

A wise decision with a chance to ensure an early advantage.

We're underway. The Cowboys have the ball first after an Eagles kickoff.

The anthem's in the books, and the eagle has landed at the Linc. Kickoff between a pair of desperate NFC East teams is moments away.

1. What version of Saquon Barkley do we see? Barkley hasn't played a full game since the end of September and he hasn't scored a touchdown all year. Barkley has less help than normal, running behind a substandard offensive line and tied to an offense missing its quarterback and best receiver. But if Barkley's hamstring is healthy, this is a favorable matchup.

2. What's the runout for the Dallas receivers? We always expect receivers to be the variance position in fantasy, but even with that, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens have posted erratic returns this year. The Philadelphia pass defense has been average.

3. Will a pass catcher step up for the Eagles? With DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks unavailable, this is a key issue for Philadelphia. Rookie Makai Lemon hasn't done much yet, while Dallas Goedert has been solid between injuries. Keep an eye on Darius Cooper, who somehow has four touchdowns on just 15 targets. Teams have been shredding the Dallas secondary.

On Sunday, the 49ers — devoid of quality receiving options — plotted all week to put Christian McCaffrey in the slot, and shift far enough outside the backfield to be used as a primary pass-catching option (at least, until he got hurt doing it).

The Eagles aren't sharp enough to put that kind of plan in place on short notice, but it's the general idea that throwing to Barkley will be another way to get their best player in space. That will provide an easy outlet for McKee, while taking heat of their makeshift offensive line — a unit that's struggled to create holes for any runners.

Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley will officially return to the lineup on Monday night after missing two games with a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 4. He returned to practice this week as a limited participant on Thursday and Friday before being upgraded to "full" on Saturday.

He was officially listed as questionable on the final injury report, but per ESPN's Lisa Salters , "Saquon Barkley told me he feels good enough to give it a go tonight, but he will try to be smart about his return."

He'll run behind an offensive line that gets one of its starters back Monday night, as guard Landon Dickerson makes his return from injured reserve with a knee injury.

With less than 90 minutes remaining until the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles kick off, each team has announced its inactives for Week 7.
